Wheelerguy’s note: look at how clean that sidewall is, and how well the wheel is rendered.

Hello. I am a Porsche 911 GT3RS wheel. As you can see, I am not mounted through one lug alone.

Wheelerguy’s Note: You can see much of the gearbox from here.

This is the underbelly of the car, on which I am attached. Do you see a square hole? There are many.

Kinja'd!!!

This is the back of the car. Do you want to see what’s inside? You do? You do. Open it.

Kinja'd!!!

There is the engine compartment. Is it accurate?

Looks like the suspension setup is similar to the LeMans racer I built last year. It’s super neat: fully independent suspension, functioning rear diff that’s connected to the engine and makes visible pistons move inside cylinders.

Lots of the complaints are the lack of motorization and RC for a premium set, which is understandable, but only to a point, largely because the thing may need to be larger to house the motor and it’ll be a bit more complicated.

You were the first person I saw who wrote that. The forum thread I’m in had the majority dissing the thing because there’s no motorization and/or RC, which they say would have justified the steep price tag. I agree, but only just.

Yes, you have to pay for Porsche markup. And I understand this. But you also get an exclusive box, each one has its own fucking serial number on the license plate, a PDK gearbox that’s connected to the wheels and has working paddle shifters, a several hundred page instruction book that has the instructions and also exclusive pictures of the manufacturing process of the real car that corresponds to how you’re building the model. And the book probably has good Porsche history too. In my opinion, it’s totally worth it. Oh, and matching luggage.

Here’s my dilemma. I love legos and matchbox cars and I don’t have to be secretive about it now that I have a little boy. But, I never leave them in the box, we play with them. I’m not a collector. But this Porsche gives me pause. Is it OK to build it?
